Founding a business is like laying the foundation of an empire that we hope to leave as a legacy to the future world. It also involves defining its cultural traits, ethics and moral values.
Like an individual sometimes gets tempted to sacrifice her moral values and ethics for personal gains and what she does next defines her character, businesses too face the same dilemma. In fact, businesses face this dilemma more often than a human being.
Companies are expected not to have souls or character or any ambition other than maximizing profits. Eueco Technology & Services Private Limited, begs to differ. In fact, we take a conscious stand to differ on these expectations. Eueco was founded upon a vision that it will be modeled on the principles of Sustainable Development. ‘We will strive to be eco-friendly and humanity positive in all our endeavours’- is the caveat that all our lofty ambitions and tiniest of decisions adhere to.
We use Glass Bottles, Ceramic Jars, Paper etc. for all our packaging. And whenever possible, we re-use stuff. Sometimes we have no other option but to use bubble wraps and similar non-biodegradable material, we try to balance that by reusing things that would otherwise fill up landfills for ages or contribute to release of greenhouse gases, when thrown away recklessly. These reused materials are old newspapers, used cardboards, used notebook pages, glass bottles of other brands or products that would have made into landfills. Yes, all of these are bio-degradable, but they too have some adverse effects upon the environment before they degenerate completely.
Sustainable development is not just about producing new eco-friendly material and carelessly discarding the old ones, just because they become environment friendly when they get destroyed. Sustainable development demands judicious utilization of existing resources so that we expend less energy in making new stuff; so that we do not keep piling up garbage on the planet thinking that they are bio-degradable anyway; so that the fuel burnt to produce eco-friendly stuff does not make the whole exercise pointless.
So, the next time you receive a shipment from us that uses old newspapers or reused cardboard pieces for safely packaging the breakable products inside, do note that we feel proud to be bold enough to reuse these things while risking our brand perception.
The next time you use one of our products and notice that the glass bottle has some other brand’s name etched on it, do realize that we are helping these bottles from a pre-mature grave in a landfills.
And while we re-use and recycle, we do make sure that the standards of quality and hygiene are maintained with more than usual strictness and vigilance
Behaving like a responsible business and an environment conscious entity demands risking reputation, brand-perception, and perception about product quality. However, it is a risk we are willing to take because those who believe in the same tenets would understand- that we have taken this planet on free-of-cost-lease from our future generations, the least we can do is return them their asset in a condition better than what we received.
